I have had problems in the last few years in finding a good Italian restaurant in Malmö. Then out of the blue I have found two excellent places located in apartment buildings far from any other services or stores. The first one was Via Napoli that I visited a few weeks ago and then tonight we went to Di Penco. Located in a basement of an apartment building just behind the Opera house it is quite difficult to find. The restaurant is maybe not the most attractive one but the food is what you should focus on.
When I was enjoying my food I thought about the stereotypical elderly lady in Italy (even though the cooks didn’t look italian at all) preparing and serving food for her family 14 hours a day. On the way out I saw on the wall a photo of the exact lady of my thoughts. Maybe she started the restaurant 50 years ago, maybe not. I have no clue.
But the bottom line is: The food tasted great. Some at the table had great fresh pasta and the pizza seen on the photo tasted exactly as you would expect: great.
They serve outside until 19 and you can have takeaway mon-fri 16-22.
